Actor Hugh Fraser is an old hand at narrating Agatha Christie puzzles, so listening to this feels like traveling with an old friend. Luke Fitzwilliam, retired police officer, has returned from a career abroad only to be trapped in a railway carriage with an elderly woman who claims to be on her way to Scotland Yard to report an upcoming murder. Dismissive at first, he soon changes his mind when the lady is killed in a hit-and-run and the intended murder victim turns up dead as well. Fraser handles the many levels of the British class structure with a deft and delicate touch and whisks you around the English countryside with grace. D.G. (c) AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine
