Watching his father succeed inspired Lindner to thrive at his own passions. He worked for the William Morris Agency and later started his own firm representing news and hosting talent. His previous books (like The New Broadcasting Realities, 2011) sought to help readers identify the steps to secure their dream jobs. His latest, Career Choreography, is an acquired taste; portions of the book read more like a Lindner family history. But for individuals with an identifiable career goal (particularly in entertainment), Lindner has helpful methods to crystallize ambition (for example, the "Clarifying List" should record the reader's skills as well as rule out unpalatable job options). Stories of Lindner's famous clients seduce (Mario Lopez; Nancy O'Dell), but "Bill," a news anchor, stands out. Bill reorients his career choreography and shines even during a major setback, earning a dream job offer. Lindner doesn't guarantee immediate success or suggest anyone take the first job offered. It may take years to achieve the ultimate goal, and tantalizing--but imperfect--job opportunities may show up along the way. According to Lindner, stay the course and don't be tempted.
