本集写岳飞奉旨去镇压杨么后，金兵得知岳飞远在湖广，金陵空虚，于是分五路进攻中原。金陵陷落，李纲等人保高宗逃至牛头山。岳飞率领众将上山保驾。牛皋下山解粮，收了高宠等三兄弟；后来又到金营下战书，戏弄了兀术。两军交战，高宠枪挑十余辆铁滑车，壮烈牺牲。金兀术派人到汤阴岳家庄去劫持岳母，想以此来削弱岳飞的斗志。
