山海经Shan (Hai Jing)

本书共十八卷，分《山经》、《海经》两大部分。《山经》按方位分别叙述东、南、西、北、中五方的山川水系、动物、植物、矿物、祭祀的典礼仪式，以及各山山神的形貌、职司等；《海经》主要记述海外各国的奇人异类、怪鸟怪兽和古代神话；海内的山川地理、帝王世系、器物发明等。This book has eighteen volumes in total, which can be divided into such major two parts as Shan Jing and Hai Jing. Shan Jing orientationally separately described the mountains and waters, animals, plants, minerals and ritual ceremonies of sacrifice in such five orientations as east, south, west, north and middle, as well as the morphology of each mountain god, functional unit, etc; Hai Jing mainly described the miraculous persons and heterogeneous species, grotesque monsters and ancient mythologies; mountains and geography within the region, imperial lineage, artifacts invention, etc.
