The book attempts to make Jishan school as an organic whole, and places academic thoughts of Liu Zongzhou, Zhang Lüxiang, Chen Que, Huang Zongxi and Quan Zuwang and other academic scholars in the background of formation and differentiation of Jishan school and social and academic transition in Ming and Qing dynasties to conduct a comprehensive and detailed study.
