本书为中国社会科学院实施马克思主义理论学科建设与理论研究工程的成果之一。书收录2012年度全国范围内公开发表的有关毛泽东思想研究最具代表性、水平最高的文章40余篇。按专题分为十部分：本书特稿，纪念毛泽东同志《在延安文艺座谈会上的讲话》发表70周年，毛泽东与新民主主义革命研究，毛泽东国际战略思想研究，毛泽东文学、艺术及领导力思想研究，毛泽东生平史实研究，毛泽东研究前沿和综述，毛泽东与新中国建设，毛泽东与改革开放和中国特色社会主义研究，毛泽东与马克思主义中国化研究等，反映了该年度毛泽东思想研究的基本面貌和总体水平。(This book is the result of one of the construction and theoretical research projects of the Marxism branch of study implemented by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. This book includes over 40 of the most representative and highest level articles related to Maoism publically published throughout 2012. They are divided into ten special topics: special features, commemoration of the 70th year since the publishing of Mao's "Talks at the Yan'an Forum of Literature and Art", studies on Mao together with New Democracy Revolution, studies on Mao's international strategy, studies on Mao's literary, artistic and leadership abilities, studies on Mao as a historical figure, facts and general summary of the studies on Mao, Mao and the Construction of the New China, studies on Mao together with China's reform and opening to the outside world and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and studies on Mao together with the Sinicization of Marxism. It makes known the year's fundamental features and general standard of Maoist studies.)
