本书选取了50座国内知名清真寺和10座陵墓，用几百余幅图片，着重从建筑艺术的角度进行了分析介绍。宁夏著名回族建筑学家姚复兴先生，积多年的研究，撰写了《中国伊斯兰建筑艺术》一文，较为系统地论述了阿拉伯伊斯兰建筑形成的背景及其特色，中国和阿拉伯伊斯兰建筑的渊源关系、建筑风格、特点等，作为本书的重要组成部分，和图片部分相互照应。希望以此能帮助读者对伊斯兰建筑的艺术特点有更深入的了解。(In this book, the author selected 50 mosques and 10 tombs well-known in China. With hundreds of pictures, he analyses and introduces them mainly in the aspect of architectural art. Mr. Yao Fuxi, a famous Hui architect from Ningxia, wrote Islamic Architectural Art in China, discussing systematically the background and features of Arab Islamic buildings, the origin relationship between Chinese and Arab Islamic buildingsand their architectural stylesand characteristics, etc. It's also a significant part of the book, partially coordinating with the pictures. It is hoped that this book can help readers have a more profound understanding of the artistic characteristics of Islamic buildings.)
