林克健先生1933年出生于渔溪镇前亭村。1959年，毕业于上海第一医学院（现为上海复旦大学）医疗系。同年，任本校附属中山医院医师，从事医疗、教学、科研工作，退休后移居美国，现常往返于中美之间。《人世间》包括"海市蜃楼"、"真戏假做"、"一言难尽"、"烟消云散"等十八章，27万余字。记述20世纪期间，渔溪、龙田、海口、港头等地人文、革命、抗日情况，有着极浓的乡土味和极强的可读性。
