Brain training is the new buzzword. But word puzzle books have been bought for decades – for their pure enjoyment. And they do a very fine job in growing the mind that they leave behind. Pulling words apart, reconstructing them to different guises, or arranging them in complementary patterns is compelling. Dissecting them letter by letter to reconstruct other words and relationships is mental gymnastics at its best.
