Title details for Sukarno by John Beilenson - Available
Sukarno was a revolutionary, a charismatic orator, and a religious synthesizer, making him one of the most controversial leaders to emerge in the 20th century. He became the spokesman and organizer for the cause of Indonesian independence, and eventually became the nation's first president, thereby ending about 300 years of Dutch colonial rule. Known as the father of Indonesia, Sukarno worked to tear down the barriers dividing the people of the vast Indonesian archipelago.
